Silvestro's has been in business for over 35 years. The deli is a family oriented business that serves the the community. This deli was taken over by the Mancuso family in the fall of 2007. As native Staten Islanders and Westerleigh residents they feel as though they should give back to the community. John Mancuso, a certified chef and a graduate of the International Culinary Schools at the Art Institute of New York City, studied international cuisine including Asian, Italian, French, and Mediterrainian flavors. He also received a degree in pastry arts. John has expanded the catering business since taking over and has catered events from 25 people to 350 people at local establishments including Holy Family Church, St. Francis Friary, St. Francis Center for Spirituality, NYPD Patrol Borough Staten Island, NYPD Highway Patrol, and countless private parties. Silvestro's takes part in the Staten Island Heart Society's Chef Extravaganza and Wine Tasting Event along with numerous other non-profit community events. They are big supporters of the Westerleigh Park alliance . They also support Monsignor Farrell's Superdance Event, PS 30, the Boy Scouts of America and the Girl Scouts of America, Star 99.1 FM, a family friendly radio station that services the tri-state area.

Joeseph Mancuso, co-owner of the deli, has been working at the establishment for over 8 years. Known as Joey to our long time customers he makes a "mean" sandwich.
